Awatuna Sunset Lodge offers child-free boutique accommodation on the West Coast, featuring just three guest rooms, each with its own ensuite, and a maximum of seven guests, you can be assured of privacy, personalised service, and comfort.
Although our minimum stay is one night, we recommend at least a two-night stay to enjoy all the Lodge and the region has to offer.

Included in the cost of accommodation:
- A garden-to-plate 3-course dinner (drinks excluded) is included IF you are on our dinner, bed and breakfast package.
- All food is freshly prepared from scratch to order using ingredients from our garden, local and the finest quality.

- Please note we need dinner orders for the first-night stay by 10 am the previous day as we pick, buy, and prepare food to order.
- Share a complimentary drink and antipasto at 6 pm every evening with your hosts and other guests (sundowners).
- Continental plus full-cooked breakfast. All breads, including gluten-free, jams, yoghurts, sauces, etc made fresh by Elizabeth.
- Unlimited barista-made espresso coffee (2-group commercial espresso machine) is available from 7 am -9 pm daily. We use local Fat Cat Coffee beans. Or help yourself to a large range of teas, instant and plunger coffee available in the guest lounge 24/7 during your stay.
- Seasonal fruit, walnuts, and vegetables, which are used in our cooking, jams, and sauces, are grown on-site, and we have over 30 chickens for fresh eggs.
- Take a tour with Selwyn in an Argo amphibious craft that takes people on a complimentary nature tour of the property, across the creek, to the beach where you can also watch the sunset, see penguin footprints (May – December), seals and their babies in spring, look for Pounamu (Jade) and other precious stones (weather permitting).
- Seaview spa pool can be booked for private use.
- Heated, outdoor above ground swimming pool 5.4 metres x 3 metres.
- Large gardens to explore.
- A double kayak for guests to use to gently kayak up Waimea Creek (must be competent swimmers and life jackets and helmets are provided and the disclaimer signed).
- Pan for gold in Waimea Creek.

Tasman King Suite
Our largest room, the Tasman King Suite is perfect for those seeking a spacious retreat after a day exploring New Zealand's West Coast. With double French doors opening onto a sun-filled deck that boasts stunning sea views, it's a blissfully peaceful spot to relax and soak up the tranquility of your surrounds. Then hop into your comfortable king-size bed and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.

Waimea King Suite
Our Waimea King Suite, located adjacent to our Tasman King Suite, also boast French doors opening onto a large sunny sea-view deck, ideal for sipping sundowners at day's end. Fall asleep to the gentle sound of the waves on your comfortable king-size bed.

Tui Triple Room
With a comfy queen bed and king single this room is perfect for twin or triple travellers or groups travelling together. The room has an ensuite bathroom with a rain-head shower.
Situated at the front of the property this room gets some traffic noise, which is dampened by the double-glazed windows. Please note this room dopes not have sea views.

Although this room does not have sea views, you have easy access to the sea-view lounge/dining room and outdoor patio with private seating that overlooks the Tasman sea where you can enjoy the views.

Are you traveling in a fully self-contained motorhome or caravan? We have 2 sea view powered-sites.
Please note, there are no facilities so you must have water, a kitchen, and a bathroom onboard.
