We were privileged to take a tour with Dion and Adele, who love to share their knowledge at New Zealand’s only White Heron breeding grounds. The White Herons happily share this area with Royal Spoonbills and Shags.

Happy 4th anniversary, Awatuna Sunset Lodge. We s Happy 4th anniversary, Awatuna Sunset Lodge.  We settled and moved in 4 years today and spent the first few months renovating before opening on 6th January  2020. Today also now marks our best whitebait catch weighing in at 2.6 kgs!!! Guess what's for dinner tonight?

I'm working on a new menu item for the coming seas I'm working on a new menu item for the coming season. Venison Saltimbocca.  Venison wrapped in prosciutto, topped with a caramalised red onion, balsamic, and gin reduction. Served with garden fresh parsnip and carrot puree and horopito infused beans.
