As food is prepared garden-to-plate, local and freshly made by Elizabeth for our in-house guests, we require your dinner order by 10 am the day before arrival. Please see our menu below and email your order to explore@awatunasunsetlodge.nz or phone 0223292450.
Enjoy home-grown and home-cooked breakfasts and dinners at what is arguably the best dining experience with the best views of the Tasman Sea on the West Coast.
Sit back and relax and let Elizabeth and Selwyn cook and serve delicious Mediterranean-style meals.
Breakfast
A hearty combination of cooked and Continental breakfast is included and served in the guest dining room or out on the deck between 7.30am-10.00am*.
*Room service and early breakfasts available on request.
Continental Breakfast
Enjoy a selection of breads, yoghurts and jams (all homemade) as well as cereal and fruit served alongside a choice of teas or barista-made espresso coffee from our commercial coffee machine. Espresso coffee is available from 7 am.
Note: Gluten-free bread and crackers (please pre-order the day before arrival as they are made to order), soy, almond, and oat milks available.
Cooked Breakfast
Place your orders by 8pm the night of arrival ( menu available in your room) and enjoy an included delicious cooked breakfast in addition to the Continental breakfast selection.
Choose from:
- Eggcelent Eggs: when you just want eggs and a slice of toast.
- Big Beach Brunch: Our own free-range eggs*, bacon, beef sausages, grilled tomato, and mushrooms.
- Best Bacon & Eggs: Our own free-range eggs*, and a side of bacon.
- Very Vegetarian: Our own free-range eggs*, grilled tomato, homemade baked beans (GF), avocado, and mushrooms.
- Occasional Omelette: Our own free-range eggs with your choice of up to 4 fillings: tomato, ham, cheese, bacon, mushroom, red onion.
- Romano: avocado, grilled prosciutto and garlic mushrooms served on homemade focaccia.
- Eggs Bene – homemade muffin, poached eggs and homemade hollandaise sauce
- French Toast – served with bacon, grilled banana and pure maple syrup.
*Your choice of poached, scrambled, boiled, sunny side-up or over easy. Served with a slice of toast.
Dinner
Feeling peckish but don’t want to go out for dinner? Let us cook you a delicious homemade meal, served in the guest dining area or on the sea view deck.
From light bites to hearty meals there is something everyone will enjoy. All bread, rolls, crackers, sauces, dressings and mayonnaise, pizza dough, pasta, desserts, and even ice cream are all made by Elizabeth. With fruit and vegetables grown and picked daily on our property, food doesn’t get any fresher. Be sure to ask about our daily specials.
Dinner is served at approximately 7 pm after our nightly drinks and canapés sun-downer.
We stock a large range of New Zealand wines, champagnes, local beers, and soft drinks for purchase. There is a $5.00 corkage per person for BYO (dinner service only).
*PLEASE NOTE: Dinner orders of entrée, and mains, are to be placed by 10 am the day prior to your first night’s stay.
Dessert can be ordered after your meal.
Vegan, dairy-free, allergy-free, and gluten-free options are available and made to order, please advise us of your requirements prior to your stay.
Drinks
A selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are available to accompany your meals or as desired throughout your stay. Complimentary espresso coffee are served with breakfast but should you require a pick me up during the day or after dinner, espresso coffee and hot chocolate are available until 9 pm. Dairy-free milk option available. Or help yourself to complimentary tea and coffee through the day.
For guest’s staying in the Lodge rooms, join us nightly at 6 pm for a complimentary sun-downer drink and canapés. Staying at Hydrangea Park and would like to join our sun-downers? Join us for only $15.00 per person.
