Awatuna Sunset Lodge offers boutique accommodation on the West Coast, featuring just three guest rooms, and a maximum of seven guests, each with its own ensuite, to ensure privacy, personalised service, and comfort.

Awatuna Sunset Lodge – not just a bed for the night!

Included in the cost of accommodation:

  • Share a complimentary drink and antipasto at 6 pm every evening with your hosts and other guests (sundowners).
  • Continental plus full-cooked breakfast. All bread, jams, yoghurts, sauces, etc made by Elizabeth.
  • Barista-made espresso coffee (2-group commercial espresso machine) with breakfast or a large range of teas (unlimited tea and plunger coffee are also available 24/7 during their stay).
  • Complimentary after-dinner liqueur.
  • Seasonal fruit, walnuts, and vegetables, which are used in our cooking, jams, and sauces, are grown on-site, and we have over 30 chickens for fresh eggs.
  • All food is freshly prepared and made with the finest ingredients.
  • Take a tour with Selwyn in an Argo amphibious craft that takes people on a complimentary informative tour of our property, across the creek, to the beach where you can also watch the sunset, see penguin footprints (May – December), seals and their babies in spring, look for Pounamu (Jade) and other precious stones (weather permitting).
  • Seaview spa pool can be booked for private use.
  • Large gardens to explore.
  • A double kayak for guests to use to gently kayak up Waimea Creek (must be competent swimmers and life jackets and helmets are provided and the disclaimer signed).
  • Pan for gold in Waimea Creek.

Our largest room, the Tasman King Suite is perfect for those seeking a spacious retreat after a day exploring New Zealand’s West Coast. With double French doors opening onto a sun-filled deck that boasts stunning sea views, it’s a blissfully peaceful spot to relax and soak up the tranquility of your surrounds. Then hop into your comfortable king-size bed and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.

Tui  Double, Twin, or Triple Room

With a  comfy queen bed and king single bed, this versatile room is perfect as a double, twin-share, or, triple room The room has an ensuite bathroom with a rain-head shower.

Situated at the front of the property this room gets some traffic noise, which is dampened by the double-glazed windows.

Although this room does not have sea views, you have easy access to the sea-view lounge/dining room and outdoor patio with furniture that overlooks the Tasman sea where you can enjoy the views.

Tui Triple Room

Please note, there are no facilities so you must have water, a kitchen, and a bathroom onboard.
